Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating. It is a common condition affecting both men and women. Sweating is one of the most important ways in which the body loses heat, however, people with hyperhidrosis produce sweat in amounts far greater than needed to control their temperature. Heat, stress and other emotions can trigger it, but people with hyperhidrosis sweat nearly all the time, regardless of mood or weather.

This condition causes not only physical discomfort, but social and occupational embarrassment. I have seen this treatment transform people’s lives and their self-esteem soar.

What you need to know

What is the Treatment for Hyperhidrosis?
Botulinum toxin is an FDA-approved medicine used to treat excessive sweating. It blocks the action of the nerves which activate the sweat glands.

Botulinum toxin is injected into the skin to treat areas of the body affected: around 15-25 injections are given into the axillar (armpits) hands or feet during the procedure, depending on the affected area.
