Lips have always been considered as one of the most important and attractive features of our face. Our lips are at their most fullest in our 20’s which is why we associate a plump and defined mouth with youthfulness.

Overtime the lips volume depletes, leaving a thinner, flatter appearance. Wrinkles and fine lines compromise their smooth look and the vermillion border and cupid’s bow become less defined. The philtrum, the area between your nose and upper lip becomes flattened and the corners of the mouth may turn downward creating a tired aged appearance.

What is a lip filler treatment?
The range of lip filler treatments used at Hydro-Aesthetics are a gold standard gel formula, which delivers a natural look and feel to the treated area. A natural hyaluronic acid, bio-degradable dermal fillers are specifically developed for the lip and mouth area and produce the most natural, long lasting results.
The two products used at Hydro-Aesthetics are:
Belotero Balance Plus and the latest Vycross range by Juvederm.

Both help fight the signs of aging by addressing the lips texture and smoothness, filling the lines and wrinkles caused by smoking and pursing your lips over time. They also add volume to create a fresh and natural look. Both products contain Lidocaine an anesthetic to make the treatment experience comfortable.

Belotero Balance is outstanding at providing gentle, but natural lip design.

Juvederm Volbella from the Vycross Range has demonstrated longevity up to 12 months, it is smooth and fine yet maintains lift and durability.

Juvederm Volift again from the Vycross Range has been nicknamed ‘Liquid Gold’ for its 24 karat results. A viscous consistency providing volume, longer lasting than Volbella, up to 18 months.

What are the different types of lip filler treatments?
A consultation will enable you to discuss your expectations from the treatment and what it is you would like to achieve. For instance if you are in your 30’s you may want fuller-looking lips, but if in your 50’s your aim may be to smooth and reduce fine lines instead. These are the options to be considered at consultation:

  • Reshape the contours of the lips
  • Increase lip volume
  • Treat wrinkles around the mouth
  • Rehydrate the lips
  • Support lip corners to restore their youthful position
How soon will I notice the results?
The results are noticeable immediately there will be some slight swelling initially, but after this has settled the optimal result will be evident 5-7 days following treatment.

There is no downtime following the injections, so you can assume your normal activities immediately after the procedure.

How long does lip filler treatment last?
Lip augmentation can last up to 6-18 months depending on the type and amount of dermal filler used and the individual person.

The aim is to create fuller yet natural looking lips. You can always build on the effect by subsequent top up’s to maintain fullness in a natural way.
